View hand selected photographs of the many impressive Garibaldi statues located around the world. Recognized as a hero in many different countries, stately and unique statues of Garibaldi still stand in France, Argentina, Uruguay, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, and the U.S. today.
This exhibition celebrates the 200th anniversary of Giuseppe Garibaldi, born July 4th 1804.
 

Left: Montevideo Uruguay: In 1842, Garibaldi took command of the Uruguayan fleet and raised an "Italian Legion" for that country's war with the Argentine dictator, Juan Manuel de Rosas.

Left: Nice France:Giuseppe Garibaldi was born in Nice, France, on July 4th, 1807. In 1891, Antoine Spinelli supervised the construction of a statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi at the edge of the old town at La Place Garibaldi. Turin.
